There are several different organizations that a person can show with. TICA supports the Polydactyl Maine Coons for show, There is also CFA, and the CFF these are just a few here in the U.S. A cat show consists of several separate, individual shows held in judging rings throughout a show hall. An individual seperate judge will reside over each ring and will give their personal judgement over each show finding. Therefore, a cat which is chosen Best in Show by the judge in Ring 1,
may not always be given the same award by the judge in Ring 2.
By following a written standard for each breed type, except for the Household Pet Class,
each show judge will evalute all cats that are entered in to the show.
The standard describes the ideal for the breed, but can be revised by the members of the groups breed council. A breed standard is precise enough to allow judges to evaluate cats accurately,
and flexible enough to leave room for differences in interpretation between judges
of keen eye and good intention.
